The US House Explained

In Congress, and as per the Constitution, the U.S. House of Representatives makes and passes federal laws. The House is one of Congress's two chambers (the other is the U.S. Senate), and part of the federal government's legislative branch. Each representative is elected to a two-year term serving the people of a specific congressional district. Among other duties, representatives introduce bills and resolutions, offer amendments and serve on committees.

  2. To pay debts and provide for the general welfare of the US
  3. To borrow money on the credit of the US
  4. To regulate commerce with foreign nationals and among the States
  5. To establish a uniform rule of naturalization (foreigners becoming citizens of the US)
  6. To establish uniform laws on the subject of bankruptcies
  7. To coin money and regulate the value thereof
  8. To provide punishment of counterfeiting
  9. To establish Post Offices
  10. To promote the progress of Science and useful arts securing Authors and inventors rights
  11. To constitute tribunals inferior to the supreme court
  12. To define and punish piracies and felonies committed against the law of nations
  13. To declare war
  14. To raise and support Armies
  15. To provide and maintain a Navy
  16. To make rules of Government and the regulation of land and naval forces
  17. To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the laws of the Union, to suppress insurrections, and repel invasions
  18. ** (the "elastic clause") to make all laws necessary for carrying into execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by the Constitution

My experience in these areas

Many of the powers bestowed on me as a future House Rep are in areas that I have a great deal of experience in. Those that include taxes, money, and general fiscal responsibility are where I can use my knowledge from job responsibilities I have now or have had in the past in the Corporate arena. Working in financial and travel related services gives me a solid foundation in making decisions and passing bills about fiscal issues. I also have a well-rounded background that includes many areas, and one in particular supports promoting the progress of useful arts, science and innovation. I have authored many technical whitepapers and creative writing works, and in addition have a background in performing arts. And to the questions related to the military, war and military strategy - I grew up in a military household where I learned first hand from my father the dedication to defending our country and the importance of our military. The many skills I have honed in Corporate America allows me to think strategically, which lends well to decision making, negotiating, and critical thinking for the most important issues facing our country.

My outlook

I am one tough cookie, and I will always stick to my principles. This nation was formed under God. I will protect us from all of the external forces drawing us into Socialism, or worse, Communism and even a New World Order. I will fervently fight for every person of every age, religion, and race. And my deep-rooted conservative and Catholic Christian faith and regard for Judaism sets my moral compass. I believe in solid Midwestern values and common sense. We need to strive to be a better America in the future; one that is civilized, refined, fair to all, affordable, educated, considerate, charitable, peaceful, and a great place to live for every family in the nation.

I am a certified instructor of the American Ballet Theatre in NY and conducted Project Plie in Naperville Boys & Girls Club. The program was instituted by Misty Copeland, where we instructed free master classes for the benefit of low-income students, providing opportunities for a career in ballet.. I continue to teach classical ballet in the Fox Valley to children and young adults of all ages.

I work as a volunteer in DuPage county for the  Federal Ombudsman program.  Mandated by the Federal Older Americans Act and the Illinois Act on Aging, the Illinois Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program is a resident-directed advocacy program which protects and improves the quality of life for residents in a variety of long-term care settings. Every 2 weeks I  visit LTC facilities in Naperville, meet with residents, and report on their issues and concerns and ensure they receive quality of life.
